A public awareness meeting was held in Cascade City Hall. The objective of the meeting was twofold.
The 1st was to build awareness to the public about the project. Terry Frasher and Jan, who have been led to get more courts in town, said they were “Wow” when they saw the interest of public during the meeting.
“We had a lot of good, positive feedback,” Jan Frasher said.
Another main objective of the meeting is fundraising for the courts construction. Currently, the group has 25% of the $180,00 required to complete the overall project. Which includes 4 courts. As there are no plans to do projects in parts or to add courts partially time by time.
The repurposed Community Park tennis courts, Cascade High School’s Webber Center, and the City Hall gym have served as zones for the growing number of pickleball players.
But there is a need for more courts and dedicated courts in town for pickleball players. However, looking to add amenities to the land, to make a proper spot for all involvement.
While fundraising discussions had been ongoing with committee members for roughly a year, the meeting marked the official launch of their public campaign. To drive public support, the Frashers are calling on those within the sport to join the fundraising efforts.
