Mason, WV (WOWK) – Big changes will be made to the town of Mason in Mason County, West Virginia.
The town of Mason has new design plans for an outdoor facility located at the intersection of Horton and 2nd Street, behind the Senior Center.
The present building standing there is too old, it was purchased by the city and is set to be demolished on Monday.
The new structure of the building will be an outdoor facility, including a splash pad and pickleball courts.
“The splash pad was an idea that started before I was in office. Those plans have changed over time. This came from people just wanting to get involved and better the community,” says Mayor Kristopher Clark
Clark mentioned that they aim to complete the construction by next fall, provided they secure the necessary funds. Mason currently needs an additional $200,000 on top of the $50,000 already raised to fund the project.
The town is looking for further economic growth from this project that will help its public services.
