Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn is a well-known American comedian, actor, and producer, who recently entered the professional pickleball space.

He obtained a majority stake in the Coachella Valley Scorpions of the NPL, a 12-team competition for Champions Division (age 50+) players.

The award-winning comedy actor has acquired a majority stake in the Coachella Valley Scorpions of the National Pickleball League, a 12-team competition for Champions Division (age 50+) players. The team sold at an estimate in the mid-six figures, NPL CEO Paul Bamundo told SBJ.

The Scorpions, which Vaughn owns from pro pickleballer Kim Jagd, are 1 of 6 teams the National Pickleball League added for its 2024 season, the league’s 2nd since its founding in 2022. Jagd is a Scorpion player and will stay on as a minority owner.

The NPL’s list of sponsors features Gamma Sports (supplier of competition balls), Gearbox Sports (paddles), Champion, Incrediwear, and Julian Coffee Roasters. According to Bamundo, the 2024 NPL championship, held in October, will be aired on CBS. However, it is yet to be decided if the broadcast will be live or a replay, similar to the 2023 final.
