Pickleball Facility Supported by Drew Brees to Open Next Week in South Mississippi Offering Free Clinics

Drew Brees-Backed Pickleball Facility Opening

The Picklr Biloxi indoor pickleball courts open in South Mississippi just in time for holiday play and New Year’s resolutions.

The grand opening is Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 6 p.m.

Pickleball demonstrations and free learn-to-play clinics on opening day will introduce newcomers to the sport.

Those who are pickleball players can test their skills in the fastest serve challenge and Play with a Pro, featuring Tyler Loong, professional pickleball player and co-host of KOTC Podcast.

Also part of the opening day festivities are food trucks, local vendor booths, a DJ and face painting for the kids, along with raffles and prizes.

Then stick around as free open play continues from 6 p.m. until midnight, following the grand opening.

Drew Brees Plays Pickleball

Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is an ambassador, investor and franchise owner of The Picklr, promoting the brand and the fast-growing sport for all ages and abilities. He’s also on social media providing tips and inviting the public to pick up a racquet.

“We have created a community and environment where everyone can build relationships, compete, develop skills and have fun while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through one of the most popular sports in the world,” Brees said.

In what was Hobby Lobby at 2649 Pass Road at Eisenhower Drive in Biloxi are now 15 fully fenced courts with The Picklr’s patent pending outdoor-style court surfaces. There’s also a pro shop, locker rooms, showers and private event space. The facility is climate controlled, to make it comfortable winter and summer.

“Bringing The Picklr to Biloxi means the local pickleball community will now enjoy a top-tier pickleball experience, every day of the week regardless of weather conditions,” said David Johnson, The Picklr Biloxi owner and Biloxi resident.

How to Join the Pickleball Craze

The Picklr Biloxi will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight daily and members can reserve a court up to a week in advance.

A variety of memberships are available, including Founders Membership for the first to join in Biloxi. The drop-in fee for non-members is $30, which allows all-day use of the club.

Leagues, tournaments and clinics will be offered to help players develop their skills.
